TEHRAN – UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is keen on safeguarding the landmark Iran nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), a senior UN official said on Tuesday.

Speaking with IRNA, the spokesman for the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric said Guterres’ viewpoint regarding the JCPOA has not changed.

On Guterres' report on United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 2231, Dujarric said the report would be published in the near future.

Resolution 2231 was adopted by the UNSC in July 2015 to endorse the nuclear agreement between Iran and six other countries.
